Frequently asked questions

Where do I throw large items that do not fit in the refuse bins?

For bulky items like unwanted furniture, electrical appliances, large tree trunks, etc, kindly contact the appointed Public Waste Collector (PWC) SembCorp Pte Ltd's customer service hotline at 1800 278 6135 or environment_contactus@sembcorp.com. Alternatively, you can also engage the services of a General Waste Collector (GWC).

A list of general waste collectors can be found at NEA’s website.

What are the bin collection timings?

General refuse is collected daily (including Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays) by the appointed Public Waste Collector (PWC).

Recyclables will be collected on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday by the PWC. All recyclable items are to be deposited into the blue recycling bins located at the bin points.

How do I apply for season parking?

Season parking permits are available to all residents of the Estate on-line through the URA website. The Committee continues to review the adequacy of resident parking with URA. URA has, at EHCA’s request, continued to allow season parking permit holders to use hourly parking slots when there are no season permit slots available.

How do I log municipal issues?

The One Service App is a one-stop community platform to meet residents’ diverse municipal needs. The Municipal Services Office (MSO) works closely with its partner agencies, organisations like EHCA and the community at large to find ways to tackle municipal issues efficiently and effectively, as well as to promote greater neighbourliness

The OneService App has the following features:

  • “Submit Case” – for residents to report municipal issues they encounter.

  • “What Say You?” survey tool – for residents to provide their views through surveys.

  • “Book Facilities” – for residents to search, book, and enquire about event and community spaces.

  • “Find Parking” – for motorists to locate nearby public and commercial car parks.

The App is available for anyone to sign up for an account. It is available both at the Google and Apple App Stores.

What are the rules around house parties?

We generally try to observe the Singapore Government residential noise level provisions of a Quiet Zone period from 10:30pm to 7:00am daily.

As open front courtyards are in close proximity to neighbouring residences, courtesy as to bright lights, music and outdoor cooking are requested to be undertaken in considerations of neighbouring units.

I would like to re-paint my house, what is the process?

As part of URA’s conservation guidelines all front exteriors of the residence are under the purview of URA Conservation and any addition of permanent structures and or painting of the exterior surfaces within the courtyard area are governed by URA’s guidelines. In Emerald Hill, the acceptable paint colours are gazetted. Here is the chart of acceptable paint colours. To download the step by step guide, click here.
