It has now been 10 years since a collaboration between the Emerald Hill Conservation Association (EHCA) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) enabled the Emerald Hill Estate to be the first residential landed property estate in Singapore to replace individual refuse and recycling bins with centralised bin locations estate wide.

This endeavour has been the forerunner of many environmentally friendly initiatives undertaken to improve the quality of life for the Estate and its residents. In the case of the Emerald Hill Estate this has meant that approximately 400 unsightly and smelly bins, which once lined the streets of the Estate, have been replaced by 4 centrally located bin-locations

Whereas this undertaking has greatly improved the atmosphere and cleanliness of the roadways and five-foot ways of the Estate, we are now experiencing issues at the 4 bin-locations (especially at the Hullet Road and Saunders Road location), which we as owners and residents of the Emerald Hill Estate can assist in addressing.
